I asked my question hoping for amusing anecdotes, so there’s no need to apologize <3 Best wishes, Bree, and thanks for the podcast, you and Justin both.
I’m a big fan of mmorpg game companies investing in the ongoing cost of enforcing policy on the chat channels. Short term chat ban/blocks for first to third time offenses. Permanent bans for the repeated abusers etc.
We log into mmorpgs for the immersion and to have a good time. Real world drama and events have no place in the game at all. I honestly feel it costs game companies more to lost players than it would cost them to police their chat channels. (shrugs)
I had no idea that the crappiest gear, when running old dungeons/raids, would sell for so much. I ran Icecrown last night, got a bunch of grays that people are paying up to 6,000 for, not to mention the greens. I logged in this morning 20k richer for very little work. Thanks Justin!
Giving LOTRO some slack now knowing about its future class reminds me of the situation of GW2 and its expansion announcement. From the usually tight-lipped ArenaNet, giving something to look forward to was probably the right move.
I love the term Blizzconline because of how painful it is. Big dad joke energy. :P
Character customization totally counts for my question! And good point about a lack of older character customization in MMOs. I always wanted to create an old, bearded elementalist in GW2 but not with the young fit bodies that only creates dissonance as a result.
It’s one thing I like about Kul Tirans in WoW is that you can create a somewhat older looking character, like my druid. (Ignore the jank gear. She’s an alt.)
Peace = No war. Wanton = No dumplings. ;)
My GW2 Warrior is named Dancin Rollerbeetle.
I’ll give UO New Legacy a try, it’s a game i want to play as main MMO not just for few days, last time i tried it actually went well, but i’m still confused about the build (skills to level) or what to do, a little bit of guidance won’t hurt the game.
The green acres article I was talking about :D
