Imaginations being what they are, I’ve spent perhaps too much time thinking about what sentient monster lives are like when we’re not beating the stuffing out of them in MMOs. Do they have a daily routine? Relationships? Day jobs that aren’t strictly “murder?” Does a raid boss sit in an overstuff chair crocheting until a group of 40 unwelcome intruders show up?
At least I know one thing that these creatures do not do, courtesy of Doiley101: “There’s nothing more unsightly than monsters that don’t brush their teeth. A Last Epoch horror.”
“I’m a little late to the race, but I took some screenshots in Mereldar, the faction capital of Hallowfall in World of Warcraft’s new expansion,” said Lucky Jinx. “It’s by far my favorite place in Khaz Algar, and I can’t think of anything else quite like it except for Boralus back in Battle for Azeroth. Great job, devs!”
Vincent takes us back to Guild Wars 2’s first expansion, saying, “The Heart of Thorns expac is, well, a lot. The maps are dense, layered and sometimes, unyielding. Log off at a waypoint, but there is no guarantee you won’t log back in to your character fighting for it’s life or dead already. Amidst all that chaos, however, there are quiet moments, like the Temple of Ameyalli. A welcome respite, for sure.”
Katriana got really, horribly, terribly lost in Dungeons and Dragons Online — but made the best of it with a disposable camera and a plucky attitude: “This week’s mediocre screenshot brought to you by Gianthold. A frozen? petrified? crystallized? giant in front of a lavafall.”
And Minimalistway is enshrining memories with besties who are no doubt dead or dismembered in SWTOR’s starting zone. “I’m projecting the funniest videos that I collected at the Sith Academy!”
Now that y’all have brushed your teeth and scrubbed your face clean, your next task is to put your good looks to work by taking screenshots of your virtual mug. Or something else.
