Welcome back to Make My MMO – technically our last edition before the turn of the year, though next week we’re doing a full recap of all the big MMO crowdfunding over the course of 2024, with some check-ins on a few games too.

But in the meantime, Pantheon rolled into early access with 2300 concurrent players on Steam, Ship of Heroes announced a Q2 2025 launch window, Ashes of Creation kicked off phase two of its beta two, Star Anvil is working on a sequel to its Secret World TTRPG, Loftia launched its Steam page, and the multi-year Thargoid War in Elite Dangerous finally came to an end (we won!).

And just in the nick of time, Star Citizen launched alpha 4.0 – well, a preview version of it, as it wasn’t fully finished.

Read on for more on what’s been up with MMO crowdfunding over the last few weeks, plus our roundup of all the crowdfunded MMOs we’re following!

Yes, some crowdfunded MMOs most definitely do succeed. But others crash and burn, and you need to hear about the whole spectrum of games that sought your money early in exchange for the promise of input and transparency. And that’s exactly what Make My MMO does several times a month. Help us keep ’em accountable, would ya?
