Make My MMO: Shroud of the Avatar’s R67, Destiny’s Sword’s successful Kickstarter

This week in MMO crowdfunding, Shroud of the Avatar released its 67th update. In the release instructions, the devs note the update was intended to focus on the top 10 priorities roadmap but “deviated significantly from that strategy” in order to work on the new user experience; the patch notes cover new story additions, loot, housing tweaks, new boat homes, and combat adjustments.

Good news on the Kickstarter front as well, as Destiny’s Sword managed to complete its Kickstarter successfully to the tune of nearly $24,000 US, and new sandbox MMO RAW has already passed its Kickstarter goal with many days to go.

Meanwhile, we dug into the sad remains of Nerd Kingdom’s TUG, Ashes of Creation posted a lore piece, Fractured plotted a second alpha, Project Gorgon dropped a new patch, and Temtem began preorders. Read on for more on what’s been up with MMO crowdfunding over the last week, plus our roundup of all the crowdfunded MMOs we’re following!

Destiny’s Sword

Yes, some crowdfunded MMOs most definitely do succeed. But others crash and burn, and you need to hear about the whole spectrum of games that sought your money early in exchange for the promise of input and transparency. And that’s exactly what Make My MMO does every Saturday. Help us keep ’em accountable, would ya?
