Welcome to weird MMORPG game mode day! I mean, April Fools’ Day – not that we’re sorry a lot of the “pranks” have become full-fledged gameplay modes. We’re recapping some of the best gags we’ve seen in the MMO space today, and we’ll be updating as we stumble into more!

Guild Wars 2 brought back Long Charr! “With pretty much every secret unobscured, the commander finds themselves facing a tall new order. Even if they defeat the nefarious forces at Tyria’s doorstep*, have they made their own grim bargain with higher forces looming above in the process? A long-overdue reckoning begins when Tyria’s loftiest hero receives a mysterious letter. Could a heretofore overlooked asuran professor really have uncovered the truth of those events two years ago?”

Star Trek Online has announced a new hand-to-hand combat expansion.

EVE Online announced the New Eden Recreational Feed (NERF) in the game’s launcher as part of the amazing new “Omega Pro Max” subscription (thanks Wilhelm!).

DC Universe Online offers pizza?

Final Fantasy XI’s fake patch notes include Cardian Poker, an unreadable handwriting font, and a new immovable mount.

Star Citizen’s R.A.P.T.O.R. – Reclamation And Personal Transportation Of Rubbish – really needs the April Fools’ day label lest you think it’s real.

World of Warcraft’s “leaked” patch notes include zero balance changes (because all classes and skills are perfect already), a new underwater dragon-diving raid where you babysit your breathing meter, the Recursive Circular Loop dungeon (lol), and Plunderstorm II.

“Coming very soon, we’re releasing a completely non-PvP sequel to Plunderstorm. This event has no PvP whatsoever, and it’s super easy to pick up all the rewards, as they’re just laying on the ground in the relative safety of the starting zones! Look for this relaxing in-game activity on your calendar under the name “Noblegarden”.”

Hearthstone also posted prank patch notes.

Valheim announced a new game mode, Haldor’s Hope, where you sit around as the dwarf merchant all day. (We’re with the commenters, though – this doesn’t actually sound bad.)

War Thunder has launched Mad Thunder, a Mad Max-themed set of team and free-for-all game modes.

Champions Online pranked y’all with t-pose as a legit animation, haha. “Cryptic Studios is proud to present our latest technological leap, changing the face of gaming forever: Champions Online: Dominance! Using the incredible power of Dr. Tea’s Dominance Beam, we are upgrading player animations throughout the game to the most efficient form possible. No more having to actually run or jump or fly, you’ll simply glide from place to place in the perfect animation. We know you’ll all love the unprecedented freedom of Dominance, but if for some strange reason you don’t, just visit Doctor Tea (just behind Silverback in Millennium City) to turn it off. But why would you do that? Don’t you want to be… dominant?”

RuneScape promises a bench-sitting skill in BenchScape.

Party Animals doesn’t really have to try all that hard.

Temtem, I’m not sure that announcing new spinoffs is really the best joke for a game that’s already tried two in spite of community rage, but here you go.

My Time at Portia/Sandrock announced the next leg in its franchise (lol).

AdventureQuest 3D launched Wiggly Whompa’s chocolate factory early – MJ’s already been in there if you want a peek!

Tower of Fantasy’s Twitter account was taken over by a cat.

World of Tanks released hilarious decals for its tanks.
