The MMO industry moves along at the speed of information, and sometimes we’re deluged with so much news here at Massively Overpowered that some of it gets backlogged. That’s why there’s The MOP Up: a weekly compilation of smaller MMO stories and videos that you won’t want to miss. See any good MMO news? Hit us up through our tips line!
This week we’ll visit Ultima Online’s new digs, celebrate Star Citizen’s third birthday, listen to a sample of Destiny’s new soundtrack, gorge ourselves silly on videos, and more!
New Games
- Sacrament: The devs are dishing more details about this upcoming fantasy title with a dossier on the Assassin class and an overview of support roles. [Thanks to Aggelos for the tip!]

Curious about the mention of Epsilon from before? Here’s the trailer for its pre-alpha gameplay:
how cool is it that UO is getting an expansion after 19 years… I am so tempted, one of the true kings of gameplay.
UO’s new site is sexy.
Hope DAoC is next.
Armsbend Why? I’m almost 30 and I like pokemon. I played it as a kid, and the newest generation (X/Y) was bought by mostly college students and other 20 somethings on it’s initial release since, well, we’re the ones who played the first generation. It’s a telling thing that the franchise is finally trying to include the more mature audience that helped make it successful. I can’t see that as bad at all, especially if you compare that to, say, Disney trying to make sure cartoons still appeal to adults.
Xijit Ah, but it still looked pretty cool. Those were the days…
Pokemon GO!
GOTTA MUG’EM ALL
One strange thing I noticed was most of the people in the Pokemon commercials we attractive 20-somethings. Â I saw two children. Â That is probably a telling a troubling thing for the series.
jixjax Yeah, that artwork is classic Hildebrandt brothers and a good 20 years old. Inside the game, you can be pretty much any color of human, elf, or gargoyle. :D
Nordavind Is it? I hadn’t thought if it as one till I saw it here, and even though, I thought of it more like an optional-online game, like the main series.
What UO needs is players. There are hardly anyone in Europa.
Denngar Koolthulu Yep, next coming up is Clash of clans lol…
