Tree of Savior has officially launched

Tree of Savior is officially free-to-play and ready to download on Steam as of today’s maintenance. “This means that our DLC products will no longer be available for purchase,” says IMCGames. “Instead, we will be launching a series of TP bundles on a date TBA.”

The launch will include a new South East Asian server. IMCGames plans to open more servers across the regions “should the number of players in another server justify it.” So far, that seems likely; as of this morning, the peak playerbase has already tripled in size from last week to today.

Thanks for explaining that. As that also answers why there appears no subscription or founders option available via website channels. I guess this is a weird way of the game giving players a “free trail”, before financially committing to it. :)

ManastuUtakata dinwitt Vexia The subscription takes the form of tokens.  They can be bought from the TP store (198 TP) or from the market place (price depends on the server).  Once you have a token you can consume it to get a month long buff that provides the subscription benefits.

To be clear, I am looking for the option to subscribe (I was told there would be)…and not looking for cash shop items themselves.

sydh dinwitt DigitalQ The limit is 2, and the token gives you one more for a total of 3 per day.  Dungeons have a hard limit of one hour, with most needing only a fraction of that time, and have a 600% exp bonus if you found a random group.  The dungeons are basically ideal grinding conditions, rooms full of mobs leading to one or more bosses.  With the mob density and the bonus experience from finding a random group its hard to beat out the dungeons when they’re within your level range (mobs 5 levels above or below start giving reduced exp).

Klixen I was asking about other platforms mostly in that. If staying away from these types of platforms that puts you at missing likely the majority of pc games currently released or to be released.

sydhYep, I avoid all Steam games. So if a game is Steam only, then I refuse to play it, I don’t care how good it is.
But the good thing is, I know I’m not alone in my loathing for Steam, so hopefully the company will release a no-steam version of the game in the near future.
But for now, I’ll give this one a miss.

dinwitt DigitalQ What is the daily dungeon limit that you mention? Is it something like 10/20 or smaller like 5? How are dungeon lengths and do they compare well to open world grinding when the limit is hit?

I’ve played the early betas but didn’t get high enough for party dungeons.

Klixen So does this go for all of the other aggregate game platform/programs? Like I mean what GoG is doing with DRM free stuff is pretty awesome but if you are just staying away from /all/ of these things you are missing out in quite a bit I would think.
