New Games and Testing
- Friday the 13th: The Game: A Kickstarter campaign is underway to fund this 1v7 multiplayer title that pits Jason against camp counselors. The film series’ Kane Hodder is on board to provide motion capture for the main villain.
- Pantheon: The team has juggled around some of its pledge tiers and is looking into a new forum solution.
- Dragomon Hunter: The closed beta for this whimsical fantasy MMO started up, so head to the site to sign up if you want a crack at it!
- The Crew: A closed beta test for Wild Run is happening this weekend and will conclude on the 19th.
- MapleStory: Take all of the goodness of MapleStory and cram it into a mobile device, as Pocket MapleStory is heading our way on iOS and Android.
Patches
- Conquer Online: Kingdom War part 1 dropped this past week and there’s a helpful walkthrough to guide players through the new content.
- Path of Exile: A small patch for this action RPG added eight new divination cards and made some performance improvements.
- MU Online: The western version of the game is slated to get the recent Korean Season 11 update in spring 2016, which includes a new map, world boss, and armor set.
- Grand Theft Auto Online: A Lowriders update is coming out on October 20th with the titular car modifications and a new storyline.
- MageRealm: Test your mettle in this fantasy title’s new 5v5 arena mode!
Events and Contests
- League of Legends: The One for All event has returned with fierce 5v5 fights taking place until October 26th.
- Pirate101: It’s the game’s third birthday, and KingsIsle is giving away presents to anyone who redeems a code by November 1st!
Odds and Ends
- Final Fantasy XIV: A new Heavensward EP with five tracks is now available on iTunes!
- Wizard101: Can gaming help your child’s development? KingsIsle says it can!
- Guild Wars 2: The countdown to Heart of Thorns continues, with a look back at coverage on the new zone and masteries as well as the guild hall system.
- EverQuest: EverQuest Franchise Director Ryan Barker has left Daybreak to form his own game studio, which looks to be making mobile titles.
- EVE Online: Kick back with a new short story in the EVE universe called “Testament.”
- Trove: After a while in beta testing, Trove’s Mac client is officially here!
- Villagers and Heroes: There’s a lot to look forward to in this MMO, including the new zone of Bevyn’s Coille coming next month!
